We are Boy Scouts of America Troop 842 in Coppell, Texas, chartered by the First United Methodist Church in Coppell.

We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm at 420 South Heartz Road in Coppell.  You are welcome to visit and learn more about us.

Service Hours Opportunity - Car Wash August 19

Life Scout Rishabh Ruikar is holding a car wash to raise funds for his Eagle Project, and he needs your help.


When:.  Sunday August 19.  There are two sessions, 10am to noon and 12:30pm to 2pm.

Where:  Behind the 7-Eleven in Coppell at the intersection of Denton Tap and Sandy Lake.  (The address is 100 W. Sandy Lake Road, Coppell, TX 75019)


Please wear a Troop 842 t-shirt if possible, and dress appropriately for the weather and for working with water.  Some suggestions are a hat, shorts or swim-shorts, and waterproof shoes.


Please sign up online if you are available to help, and indicate in the Comments field which times you are available.

Troop Meeting 7-8pm.

Activity: Nine-Square

Bear Patrol on Setup, flag and cleanup duty (arrive by 6:45pm to set up and get the flags ready; don't leave until everything is packed away).

Eagle Scouts: We will have a Troop Eagle Ceremony on September 25.  If you would like to hold your ceremony at this event, please contact Mrs. Gregory.

August 21st 2018 - COURT OF HONOR

Court of Honor 7-8pm in the Sanctuary

The Court of Honor is our quarterly meeting/ceremony, at which all ranks, merit badges and other awards earned over the past three months are presented to the scouts.  Families are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend.

All scouts must wear complete Class A uniform consisting of Class A shirt, BSA pants, neckerchief, BSA socks, belt and merit badge sash.

Green Eagle Patrol and all scouts in a leadership position need to arrive by 6pm to help set up and rehearse.  Also, on duty for cleanup after refreshments – do not leave before checking with SPL.

Refreshments after the Court of Honor, in Wesley Hall.

For the reception refreshments, we ask each Scout family to contribute the following:

Last name beginning with A-K cookies or brownies – please NO NUTS

Last name beginning with L-Z 6-pack of your favorite soft drinks or water.  Individual serve bottles, please, not liter bottles

Scribe = all scribes on duty.  Must transcribe attendance and turn in form before going home.

There are no Scoutmaster Conferences, Boards of Review, nor Eagle Project Reviews this week because of the Court of Honor.

August 28th 2018 – Weekly Troop Meeting

Troop Meeting 7-8pm.

Activity: demonstration of camping stations: stove/lantern setup, dishwash station and fire starting.

Field Uniform: School is back, so we’re back in the Field Uniform, also known as Class A.  That includes BSA shirt with updated patches, Troop 842 neckerchief and BSA pants/shorts.  As always, closed-toe shoes please.

If you took NYLT over the summer, make sure you send a copy of your certificate to advancements@troop842.com so that your records can be updated.
