We are Boy Scouts of America Troop 842 in Coppell, Texas, chartered by the First United Methodist Church in Coppell.

We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm at 420 South Heartz Road in Coppell.  You are welcome to visit and learn more about us.

Junior Helpers Needed for Cub Scout Day Camp

Jr. Helpers

Mature age 12 - 18.  The Camp Directors will make job assignments for these older boys and girls as needed in each activity area.  Junior Helpers will be expected to work in their assigned areas under the supervision of an adult volunteer.  Jr. Helpers must wear the camp T-shirt.  T-shirts must be purchased. No additional fees unless riding the bus.

Activity: Meal Planning and Canoeing Prep for Daingerfield Campout

Phoenix Patrol on Setup, flag and cleanup duty (arrive by 6:45pm to set up and get the flags ready; don't leave until everything is packed away).

Court of Honor 7-8pm in the Sanctuary

All scouts must wear complete Class A uniform consisting of Class A shirt, BSA pants, neckerchief, BSA socks, belt and merit badge sash.

Bear Patrol and all scouts in a leadership position need to arrive by 6pm to help set up and rehearse.  Also, on duty for cleanup after refreshments – do not leave before checking with SPL.

Refreshments after the Court of Honor, in Wesley Hall.

For the reception refreshments, we ask each Scout family to contribute the following:

Last name beginning with A-K cookies or brownies – please NO NUTS

Last name beginning with L-Z 6-pack of your favorite soft drinks or water.  Individual serve bottles, please, not liter bottles.

Scribe = all scribes on duty – Harrison B., Curt C. and Murtaza N.  Must transcribe attendance to form before going home.

There are no Scoutmaster Conferences, Boards of Review, nor Eagle Project Reviews this week because of the Court of Honor.

May 16th 2017 - PLC and Troop Meeting

PLC Meeting 6-7pm.  SPL, ASPLs, Patrol Leaders, Scribes, and Troop Guides should attend.  Bring questions and suggestions from your patrol.  Scribes to take minutes (i.e. write down what is decided).  Note for our new scouts: this is the Patrol Leaders Council, for leadership to plan ahead, not for all scouts.  The regular troop meeting will start at 7pm.

Troop Meeting 7-8pm.

Activity: Patrol time after PLC.  Tenderfoot 6(c) for first years; we need older scouts to help.

First Year Scouts: At the meeting, you will be working on Tenderfoot 6c.  You can take off your boy scout shirt for the exercises, so please wear a troop t-shirt underneath the scout shirt.

The 05/02 meeting will be an extended meeting. 

It will start at 6:30.  This is to cover both the meal planning for the Canoe Campout and the classroom portion of the Canoeing MB.
