We are Boy Scouts of America Troop 842 in Coppell, Texas, chartered by the First United Methodist Church in Coppell.

We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm at 420 South Heartz Road in Coppell.  You are welcome to visit and learn more about us.

January Merit Badge Opportunities

On January 16th, we will be kicking work on the Family Life merit badge and on January 17th, we will be starting formal work on the Camping merit badge. These are both Eagle required merit badges and being made available to a limited number of Scouts who are ranked First Class and above.  Registration is open through the troop calendar.  If you are a Scout ranked First Class or above and you have not yet completed these merit badges, please be sure to register right away.

Northern Tier, 2021

Troop 842 has a few spots available for a crew to paddling the Great Northwoods wilderness along the US-Canadian border this coming Summer from June 24 to July 1, 2021. This is an incredible adventure available to Scouts who are 14+ (or 13 and have completed the 8th grade) at the time of the event. Problems Logging Into Scoutbook

BSA IT reset some of the security infrastructure surrounding Scoutbook last week.  As a result, some individuals are experiencing problems logging into the Scoutbook website.

Badge Pickup

Instead of our regular meeting, Scouts may come by the FUMC (Springfellow) parking lot to pickup their rank and merit badges from prior Courts of Honor.

Last Call for Recharter

Every year, we must submit paperwork to our Council, identifying all active members for the coming year and paying the fees that come along with that.  This year, collecting that paperwork has been challenging due to the lack of in-person meetings but it's still a process we must complete in order to retain our troop's charter and associated insurance coverage.
