Register for Enchanted Rock Camping/Climbing Event - Apr 9-11

Posted on Feb 27 2021 - 12:18pm

Registration for the April 9-11 campout is now open hereSpace is limited to the first 24 registrants due to high demand for camp sites at this state park. Once we fill the first 24, we will see if there is sufficient additional interest to secure campsites at nearby parks.  Please remember that the camping fees reflect fuel, food and park fees and adults transporting Scouts other than their own (or the trailer) may request fuel reimbursement.

March Merit Badge Opportunities

Posted on Feb 27 2021 - 8:28am

On Saturday, March 6, we will have opportunities for Scouts to start work on Citizenship in the World and Hiking MBs.  Citizenship in the World is an Eagle Required MB and Hiking can be used for an Eagle requirement in place of Swimming or Cycling MB. Please note that the Hiking MB involves several long and strenuous hikes that take place over some extended duration of time. You should be reasonably fit before selecting this MB. Registration is now open on the troop calendar.

Camp Card Sales!

Camp Cards are a great way for scouts to fund their Summer Camp and other scouting activities. Each Camp Card has multiple food, service and entertainment discounts for customers and is sold for only $10 to the general public. Half the proceeds go into the Scout's account and so - the more you sell the more you get to help fund your activities.

Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge

Posted on Jan 31 2021 - 12:30pm

We will be hosting Citizenship in the Community merit badge on Saturday, Feb 20th. Registration is open at https://www.troop842.com/node/3758.

This is an Eagle required MB but one which does take a bit of time to complete.  If you already have a few MBs completed and are looking for that next MB, this is a good one to take.

Personal Fitness MB - Starting Feb 9

Posted on Jan 28 2021 - 5:52pm

We will be delivering the Personal Fitness merit badge on Tuesday, February 9th, prior to the regular troop meeting.  This is an Eagle-required merit badge and an excellent first merit badge for Scouts moving towards the First Class rank.  It does require repeated meetings and on-going tracking of activities over a continuous 90-day period so please be aware of that before starting the merit badge on the 9th.
