Scouting For Food

Posted on Feb 13 2018 - 5:36pm

It is time for Scouting For Food, which is the an annual day of Scouting Service; the largest food collection event in the nation.

This year, the scouts have elected to go out two Saturdays.  We will deliver notes to our assigned area on Saturday February 10, asking homeowners to have some canned food ready for the following Saturday.  Then we will return to the homes on Saturday February 17 to pick up the food donations.

We need scouts, as well as adults to drive.  The more people helping, the easier it will be!  If you can spare a few hours on one or both weekends, please help.

We need to know how many people are coming, so please sign up online for February 10 and February 17.

We will meet at the troop trailers, in the FUMC parking lot, on both Saturdays, at 9am

Wear your Class A uniform, as you are representing Boy Scouting.  Please wear warm clothes underneath, as it may be cold, and a jacket over the scout shirt makes it hard to tell you’re a scout.

Each group will be given a small area and map, and if we have enough help, it should only take a few hours.

Make sure you sign in and out, as this is eligible for Service Hours.
